NEW LOOK FOR BLOG

First things first....I changed my blog around some so I could use backgrounds to give my blog a little bit more pazaz and change it with the season. With some help from some wonderful ladies with the Old Farmhouse Gathering I figured out how to do it. What do you think? Do you like it?

Been a busy week so far as I am starting to work on getting things made for the summer season around here. So I have started my list as I love lists and will mark off as I go because that makes me feel like I am accomplishing something.

I also want to get some quilting done as it seems I never have enough time to quilt. Speaking of quilting I ran across these statistics the other day on quilting that I thought were interesting.

According to Quilting in America, the estimated total dollar value of the quilting industry stands at $3.58 billion dollars.

The majority of quilters (85%) have a room dedicated to quilting; in that room are approximately $8,542 worth of quilting tools and supplies, and $3,677 worth of fabric.

Surging on, they own 2.7 sewing machines and 19% spent approximately $2, 679 on a new machine in 2009.

In one year’s time the average quilter buys 93.6 yards of fabric. The average quilter owns 152.8 spools of thread.

I agree totally with the last one as I think I have just about that much fabric on hand. Here is some of my stash.

Also wanted to let you know that the EZCraft Online Show is coming up in February. It starts February 7th thru the 28th. I will be sending you a link to the site when it opens. This show will have  lots of handmade items from some wonderful people so I hope you can join us. I will have an online booth there also. :)

Well I better get busy and get the snow plowed out from our driveway before the next storm comes thru tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me.

Don't for get to check out the new recipe I have for you.

  1. I do like the new look. Interesting read on quilting, I think they may have under estimated the amount of fabric we buy in a year. LOL

  3. Those are amazing statistics! I just read them to my husband so he would know (A) I'm not so crazy; I'm among friends, and (B) I have a long way to go before I meet the status quo!

I really like your background and the way you've rearranged your blog.
